Empowering Sub-Saharan Farmers Through Precision Weather Forecasting
As climate change continues to disrupt traditional weather patterns, smallholder farmers across Sub-Saharan Africa face increasing uncertainty in their agricultural planning.
December update on my progress with my Impossible List.
Professional
So with no contact from Hilary Campbell I am going to remove this goal from the list and take the lesson that these goals should be individual based as I do not have control over how much other individuals want to be involved.
So I've slowed down a bit on delivering a fully automated business. Work has been a bit hectic in the run up to a large delivery and I've focused in on that as opposed to my own stuff. However, the Christmas break is coming up and I'll be able to push deeper into getting this delivered.
The blogs are moving along swiftly, but the technical conference and the Dundee Tech Meetup are both on hold due to the current pandemic.
Health / Fitness
My weight seems to be dropping ever so slightly. I'm now hovering around 14 stone 3 pounds. I've been a bit ill and I have been trying to consciously eat less, so perhaps that is the cause. Looking into a Gym is on hold until the travel ban is lifted. I'm guessing this will pop back up as a possibility come February or March. I'm looking forward to takign lessons while on a treadmill or what have you.
I attempted to get an appointment with the Doctor to get my name on an autism assessment list. Then my local GP asked to not be bothered with that sort of stuff. So I'll let it slide for a few more months to clear the vaccination for Covid.
In other news I haven't been feeling well and went to the doctor a few times and was given a blood test. I didn't get any word back, but I was asked to go back in for another blood test, this time fasting. Hopefully my cholesterol is doing OK.
Personal Skills
I'm starting to gear up for editing my book next year. I'm breaking my story down into chapter blocks I can print easily and work on. I might even give a chapter or two a go over Christmas just to get a few steps into that project.
The photo count moves forward 7 photos with a new total of 49. I take probably about 100 to 200 photos a month of which I keep about 25 to 50 of those I post only my favourites so I would expect to put up about 10 to 20 per month. At that rate I won't have to buy a Flickr Pro account for like 8 years.
Travel / Events
Currently I have my eye on a trip to Tromsø with my wife in February 2022 for the annual Reindeer Races.
Volunteering / Charity
I'm devising on-boarding and benefits packages for both members and Trustees at Tayside Re-Users. Hopefully in 3 to 5 months I'll have a strategy for increasing the membership and filling the vacant trustees on the board.
Education / Languages
Python course has been completed and moving back to the Statistics course I was working on. Russian is proving difficult to squeeze into my routine so it’ll have to wait a bit yet.
Financial
Also on hold while Louise is working on her self this year finishing her counselling course and recharging. We're managing, but it will be close until we get her back in full time employment. The bonus will be her in a job that she loves and moving forward more happy than before.
