Impossible List - 15 March

March update on my progress with my Impossible List.

Impossible List - 15 March

Professional

In place of the automated business I've focused in on building a bliss symbolics keyboard which will eventually (not anytime soon) be the basis for building a bliss messaging tool. Essentially Whatsapp for bliss symbolics. It is not without its issues but it's going well.

Blogs are moving right along, conferences still seem a bit out of reach due to the pandemic, but it is looking increasingly like 2022 will be close to back to normal and these things can kick off.

In other news I'm less confident that I'll be able to bring back the Dundee Tech Meetup, but we'll see what 2022 has on offer.

Health / Fitness

The monthly mountain climb (which has actually been hill climb as being confined to Fife there are no mountains to climb) is continuing. I've recently started calorie counting which appears to suit my demeanour. I'm losing weight but it is only two weeks in. I'll keep it up with an expectation to lose one or two pounds a week I should be at ideal weight by Christmas.

In a supporting role I still haven't drank in 2021 so that should help out a bit. Also I've been hired at a new job that facilitates the editing of podcasts. I'll need to get into podcasts in a bigger way than I had previously and that might be very conducive to helping me take a walk every day.

Personal Skills

The book is moving along. Ten chapters edited and I think I'm circling around to a nice opening act to my book. I'm going to spend a bit of time on the first ten chapters and bring them up to a darft that I like. I'll keep attacking the writing in groups of ten.

I moved up to 69 photos on Flickr this month...chuckles to self.

Travel / Events

Still no idea on whether or not I'll get to travel this year. But with Tromsø in mind for February 2022 I've got some Ryanair vouchers to be used by the end of this year with Emily and an idea to go to Romania and travel to see Zolotarevo in the Ukraine.

Volunteering / Charity

Trying to whittle down the options to a single one with our big ideas and then expend our efforts in going after that idea.

Education / Languages

I've finished my statistics course, and really got stuck in with the Russian. I'm hoping to keep it up with Russian and then take a formal course in the autumn.

Financial

So I've resigned from my current job, I'll be moving to a new exciting opportunity in Podcast audio editing software. It will be a lot better for my sanity and pocketbook.
