Impossible List - 15 July

July update on my progress with my impossible list.

Impossible List - 15 July

Professional

So I've slowed down on my automated business as something came back into the picture. I'm refocusing efforts on rebuilding the phonetic spell checker and trying to run that through to MVP.

I also had a conversation about how I was structuring my automated business, and I think I might need to go over the project again with a view to better management of the data object I have been passing around in the creation of products. Oh well, sometimes you have to take a wrong turn to figure out you're going in the wrong direction.

Talking about the automated business is contingent on finishing something that can be shown and discussed. With the phonetic spell checker back in the picture, this will slow down a bit. Hopefully by Christmas both projects are done.

I've now written 12 monthly blogs so making progress in my goals. I'll need to work up another goal for my writing.

A Dundee Tech Meetup is still as far away as it ever was.

Health / Fitness

So I hit 13 stone by July. Goal achieved, now I'm looking at hitting 11 stone 11 pounds before the end of the year bringing me to a healthy wait as described by the NHS BMI Calculator.

This has recently been supported by going on two weekly 3 mile walks. I'm aiming to build up to a 3 mile walk every weekday

I missed getting up a mountain in June as the only attempt I made was called off due to weather. I'll need to focus efforts so I can get up one in July.

As for an Autism assessment I've hit a snag. I didn't really think that I might not get an assessment just that it might come back negative. However, it turns out that the NHS Psychology Service isn't going to take me on for an assessment. Feeling kind of low about this. Not sure what to do about it.

Nothing been happening on my Ollie really.

Personal Skills

I've made a very small progress towards editing my book. Just one chapter in, but better than sitting there with no movement..

After a trip to Kenmore with my wife for a weekend away I've done a lot on the photography front and Flickr now has 167 photos in it.

Travel / Events

Nothing on the horizon other than local trips.

Volunteering / Charity

Tayside Re-Users is back open and we are jumping on getting ourselves sorted and back into a position to get a mortgage and buy our location.

Education / Languages

Russian is still moving along. Nothing brilliant to report.Worked through a course on Git to improve my version control skills.

Financial

Started taking the first few steps towards paying down our debt.

So with another recent move I have achieved an income of £60,000, now we'll have to up it again. £80,000?

I've taken the Life in the UK test and passed, now it'll just be on to getting a payment for some work completed here in September, pulling together my application and getting it sent off.
